Viareggio
Viareggio is well known as the main seaside resort of Tuscany, as well as being the home of the famous carnival of Viareggio and its papier-maché floats which parade along the promenade, the so-called “Passegiata a Mare”. Viareggio went through a marked development of the coast at the beginning of the 20th century, which determined a drastic change to most of the beach, meaning to turn the Viareggio with its promenade, full of cafés and shops, into the “Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”.
