Gargano
The Sperone of Italy, Gargano is maybe the most famous area in Apulia, strong of its tourism in the small villages as Peschici, Vieste and Mattinata. But Gargano is much more than just sea tourism. The region offers a wide national park in the land’s interior, full of forests and fantastic landscapes. This area is less crowded, as the locals live mainly along the coasts or at the mountain’s feet. The fishermen villages along the coast have preserved their ancient charm and offer an amazing cuisine based on fish and sea food. Gargano is also the gate to the Tremiti islands, famous all over the world for their cristalline water, signed several times with the blue flag of Foundation for Environment Education as the most proper and beautiful sea coast all over the world.
